I ordered those flats for my 11 year old daughter and her school dance class. She wears a 4 1/2 and 5 in street shoe size so i ordered a 5B. I read the reviews first and made my decision based on what most people recommended. I have researched other brands as well but the choices were limited so based on that i chose Bloch brand. My daughter liked the look of these which was most important for her. We chose canvas because i worried that in leather flats she might sweat more and that they will not stretch enough. When the flats first arrived i felt that they looked too small and too narrow but once my daughter tried them on we realized they do stretch and that they suppose to have a snug fit. She wore them now daily in school and at home for the past few days and it seems they are fitting even better since they conformed to her feet and are stretchy. She loves them so far. They do look super cute on her feet. Read more

Bloch dance shoes are some of the best. But getting the right size is ridiculousl. I measured my daughter’s feet and used the size guide on the product page and they were literally two sizes too small. We ordered several more pairs after trying the size 1.5 (the recommended size based on her measurements) up to size 3.5 and tried them all on. She fit the 3.5…what a hassle. (She wears street shoe size 2/2.5 for reference. Just starting to outgrow the 2’s but the 2.5’s are still very roomy.) Even with the 3.5’s her toes are a bit snug, but there is room in the heel. They just fit a bit weird. I haven’t done canvas dance shoes before, so we’ll see if they stretch and conform to the foot the way the leather ones have done in the past. Improve the size chart and these would get more stars. Read more

As much as I want to love these shoes, I have two major complaints with them. One is that they are SO narrow. The second is that they SLIDE OFF MY HEEL! I’m unable to execute any multiple turns, large grand jetés, etc. without them sliding off. I had wanted to get some shoes that didn’t bunch up when the drawstring was pulled. The fit length wise is perfect though, so I’m sure it isn’t a sizing issue. And though I have decently arched feet for a dancer, I really don’t think these flatter your arches at all. I will have to save them for teaching class. Read more

I’m new to ballet slippers so I ordered both the Bloch Synchrony and Bloch Pro Elastic. Same size, 7, for my street size 9 feet. What’s weird is that it’s the same Bloch sizing but the Synchrony sizing was so much smaller. The heel part didn’t cover my entire heel almost felt like it was going to slip off bc it was so low. Plus as seen in pics the leather sole didn’t match up to my heels. I took the same photos for both Pro Elastic and Synchrony and I’ll post the first ones under a review for Pro Elastic. Just odd that the same size would have so much variation between two styles from the same company. Read more

These are great! I am an adult who used to dance at a semi professional level. I used to wear sansha ballet flats as required by my studio, but have branched out now. They’re stretchy, supportive, and have a nice elastic in the arch to remind me to point my feet. It’s easy to articulate with these even when they haven’t been broken in yet. I’m glad I tried them! I wear a 7.5 US street shoe and ordered 6c in these and they’re perfect. They looked tiny before I put them on so I was worried but I am so happy! Read more

These shoes are excellent. They have a split sole. Shoes with a full sole hide your arch. With those shoes you will be trying throughout class to make your arch look better! I remember my teacher telling me over and over to point my toes! This split sole shoe allows the full curve of the foot to be seen. Soft genuine leather makes pirouttes smoother and easier. Elastic keeps shoes on firmly. Definitely get these! Read more

I ordered as per my daughter’s street shoe and these seem to fit on the snug side/ and look narrow to me. She is wearing them and say they fit fine and she is the dancer so we are keeping them but I would say to size up half the size from your street shoe size. They are beautiful and that may be why she wants to keep them they make the line of her point absolutely gorgeous. They are above the average shoe you get at the store or beginning ballet shoe. If you are in competition or trying out for something I would absolutely suggest this ballet shoe as it really does make a difference in the lines of the point. We will buy this brand style again! This ballet shoe gets three stars for confusing sizing, inaccurate color description and depiction and sub par construction. I bought my daughter size 2.5 after reading many of the reviews and information on the internet regarding Bloch’s sizing. I originally wanted to buy the Capezio Hanami which is also a canvas ballet shoe but it isn’t offered here on Amazon with Prime shipping. I thought the Bloch Synchrony would be a comparable shoe but it IS NOT. For about the same price, the Capezio Hanami is far superior – cuter and more color options, better fabric and better construction. Also, as you can see in my photo the inside of Bloch Synchrony has a seam running down the middle which looks really uncomfortable and just looks like a poorly thought out design choice. I’ll be keeping the shoe because she needs it now, but I won’t repurchase. Read more
