These are not authentic – they are knock offs. Arrived without a box, obviously worn before. They didn’t have the signature inside as pictured, and were generally of poor quality. There were several spots that looked like white glue leaking onto the black shoe. I ordered another pair directly from the manufacturer and the difference was unbelievable. I love Amazon and usually get exactly what I order – but there is definitely a problem with these particular shoes. Do not waste your time or money ordering them from here. Read more

These shoes are fakes and NOT Jsams at all! No signature on the inside of shoe as shown, nothing on box to indicate Jason Samuel Smith. Just plain Bloch. Ordered twice and just returning for a full refund. So incredibly disappointed!! Read more

I’m just a regular tap dancer, I don’t do really fancy stuff due to spine issues, but I can actually do more in these. I had regular tap shoes before, the $60 ones with the full sole. I decided to get these after my son accidentally threw out my old ones (they were in a grocery bag after recital, boys, *sigh*). My dance teacher and more pro dancers at my studio wear these and he said, “you’ll never have to buy another pair”. So I decided, go for it, treat yourself, up your game. I’m super happy I did. I love that the front, where the laces are, goes up higher then a regular shoe. And it has more padding. These ones are heavier then normal shoes so it took a class or two of adjustment, but my taps are more crisp and louder. They seem to be more stable for toe stands (tho the larger toe box took a bit of adjustment too). Obviously I don’t know how long they last but I’m really glad I spent a bit more. Of note, I got really confused by the size chart and tried two smaller sizes. It ended up being the same size as my regular full sole Bloch’s. One size larger then running shoe size. Also, they did have to be broken in. Read more

I love my BLOCH Jason Samuels Smith Tap Shoes! These fit perfectly! I ordered my pair in black. I wear a size 9 in street shoes per measurements. I tried on a 9 1/2 and a 10 in the JSAMS. The 10 had way too much toe room. However the 9 1/2 was form fitting. My big toe stops not too far from the end of the toe box. So yes you definitely will need to go up a half size. You do not want your tap shoes to be too big. If the shoe is form fitting in all the right areas but it rubs your toe you can break the shoe in or take it to the shoe cobbler to have the toe area stretched. The leather is so soft that breaking the shoe in should not take too long. The inside feels soft and luxurious on your foot. You will notice that this shoe is slightly heavier depending on the weight of your previous oxford tap shoe. When I tap now my sounds are out of this world! If you are serious about tap dance or just want quality tap shoes that will last and sound great…This is your shoe! Read more

These tap shoes are the best! They are very heavy duty and great quality. The sounds on these are beautiful! Very sharp and loud sounds. They do run a bit small. I normally wear a 7.5 to 8 in street shoes and I had to get a few sizes before finding a good fit. I ended up with a size 8.5 in this tap shoes and it fits snug (which I wanted). I can still wear a pair of thin socks with them. The toe area was a bit tight when I first got them but have stretched a little since then and are now comfortable. They come with the rubber soles unattached. I chose not to put them onto my shoes (because I didn’t know how and I didn’t want to pay more money to find someone to do it professionally). There is definitely more sliding without them but I’ve gotten used to it. I do feel like the balls of my feet get a bit more sore after dancing for a while probably because of this. Overall, I love these shoes! I’ve had them for about two years now and I still love them. I’m considering getting them in white too! If you get these shoes, you won’t regret it! Read more

After a colleague let me borrow her JSams for class, I fell in love so I paid $170 dollars for these brand new shoes that didn’t even come with laces? I followed the size chart and got one size up because that’s what fit me when I wore hers. I can’t stop the shoes from sliding off the backs of my ankles because they’re slightly big AND have no laces. Also, I don’t know if I just have to break them in or what, but they’re quite painful to dance in. I only had them on for a few minutes to rehearse a combo and had to take them off. Literally the only thing good about this shoe is the sound. I’m trying to find a way to get in touch with the seller but am having no luck, so hopefully they’ll see this review. Read more

As a dance teacher, I appreciate that there is zero break-in time needed for these shoes. The leather is super soft and the shoes themselves are incredibly sturdy. I really like that the nonslip sole patches come separately. You do, however need to size up. I wear a size 8 (US womens) street shoe, sometimes 8.5 if I want more room in the toe. I like my tap shoes to fit like a glove. I ordered a 9 in these and they fit perfectly, with socks. I am very happy with these shoes. They are a good intermediate step between a student shoe and a pro shoe. Read more

I love this tap shoe. Definitely the most comfortable tap shoe I’ve ever owned and worth the money. I wear a 9.5 street shoe and based on the reviews, ordered a 10.5. On first fit it was perfect. I’ve tapped just a few hours in them and can feel I’ll need a thicker sock. The shoe is as tight as the laces will allow. Not sure how a 10 would feel but I’d be afraid they’d be too short. The length of these feels great. A thicker sock isn’t the end of the world. Read more
